Weight Loss On Fire!!

Weight Loss On Fire!!

Bev Dunne

Last week I wrote about thermogenics and how they are often used to assist with weight loss. Many often supplement with protein powders in conjunction with thermogenics to lose weight. I’ve often written about the importance of protein in our diet. Most of us have a diet quite high in carbohydrates and low in protein. Every cell in our body needs protein to maintain its life, with protein being essential for tissue repair and construction of new tissue. Using a protein powder is an easy way to ensure we have sufficient protein in our diet.

For many years, Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) was the protein used in most protein formulas. These days many prefer plant-based proteins, such as pea, hemp and brown rice protein powders. Plant-based proteins are far more easily digested which obviously is important

Protein is essential for rebuilding muscle.  When we are exercising, we break down muscle, which is why it is important to eat sufficient protein after exercising.

A protein powder which is very popular, contains organic raw pea protein and organic sprouted fermented brown rice protein as well as other herbs and amino acids which may help with controlling appetite, fat metabolism and fat loss.

Several of the ingredients I wrote about last week, including Green Coffee Bean, Garcinia Cambogia, L-Carnitine and Raspberry ketones, are in this formula; however, there are other interesting and worthwhile ingredients. Some of the more significant ingredients in this formula are –

Matcha Green Tea – We know green tea is high in antioxidants, however, it is also believed to increase thermogenesis, which is the body’s rate of burning calories. Matcha Green Tea is a much stronger form of green tea and, therefore, more effective in burning fat and boosting the metabolism.

Green Coffee Bean –The active ingredient in Green Coffee Bean extract is chlorogenic acid.  Our body needs energy every minute of every day, and chlorogenic acid inhibits the conversion of sugar to energy.  Instead, the body obtains its energy from fat stores, converting fat into energy and encouraging weight loss. Hence the benefit of including Green Coffee Bean in this formula.

Garcinia Cambogia – The active ingredient in Garcinia Cambogia is Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA). HCA may assist in suppressing the appetite plus assist in impeding storage of fat in the body. It is understood the HCA contained in Garcinia discourages the liver from producing new fat cells in the body.  Instead, carbohydrates are converted into usable energy which then allows the liver to convert stored fat into extra energy.

L-Carnitine – This amino acid which assists in metabolising fats and is often used in sports supplements as it may be helpful in improving endurance and building muscle. Its other function is to aid the conveyance and metabolism of long-chain fatty acids into the muscle cells, which is then burnt for energy production.

Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT)- Medium Chain Fats can be digested more readily and transported straight to the liver, having a positive thermogenic benefit. They are not stored as fat; however, they are burned by the body for fuel.

African Mango and Raspberry Ketones – may help to suppress appetite, assist with balancing blood sugar, and increase metabolism

Other ingredients included are Turmeric, Vegan Probiotic, Choline, Inositol, Bromelain, Papain, Forskolii Root, Stevia.

The protein powder comes in 4 scrumptious flavours – Iced Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Honeycomb and Vanilla Bean!!
